Petition text:

We, the undersigned, call upon the South African government to turn away from an unsafe nuclear development path, particularly the proposed Pebble Bed Modular Reactor, the associated fuel and transport programmes, and the proposed Radioactive Waste Smelter at Pelindaba.

We urge the South African Government to re-direct the funds to safe, clean, sustainable and proven alternatives, such as energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, of which South Africa has in abundance.
