Following is a list of activities in commemoration of the April 1986 Chernobyl accident. Although it is already an extensive list, not all activities are listed.

- A Tribunal on Chernobyl will be held in Vienna on 12-13 April. The verdict of the Tribunal Judge will be announced in a major media conference on Monday, 15 April.
- An exhibition by the Atomic Photographers Association will take place.
- A conference called "A Decade after Chernobyl, Summing up the Consequences of the Accident" will be held in Vienna 8-12 April. It will be a shadow-conference of the International Conference of the IAEA, UN, UNESCO, UNEP, UNSCEAR, FAO and NEA/OECD.
- 25-26 April: Bike-tour from Linz to Temelin (Czech Republic).

BELGIUM
- 31 March-6 April: Bike-tour for a Future without Nuclear Energy. The bike-tour will pass through all the proposed radwaste dumpsites in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium, and end at the nuclear power plant in Doel.
- Friday, 26 April: Non-violent direct action at the Doel NPP.

FRANCE
- 24 April: The French group CSFR (Comit pour la Sauvegarde de Fessen-heim et de la plaine du Rhine), which is based close to the German border, is inviting everyone to assemble on Place de la Cathedral Vieux Brisach (Germany) at 1500h to commemorate Chernobyl.
- 27 April: After a tour of five weeks in the region of the Rhône-Alpes, an exposition on alternative energy will arrive in Lyon where it will be a part of the manifestation: 'Chernobyl, Superphénix, ten years is enough!' GERMANY
- On 26 April, there will be a lot of decentralized actions organised by local groups.
- On 27 April, there will be coordinated demonstrations in six different places: Ahaus, NPP Krummel, Morsleben, NPP Biblis, Freiburg and Munich.
- A conference on Chernobyl will be held in Bonn on 26-28 April. It will deal with the consequences of the disaster, the risks of the nuclear industry, and ecological alternatives. - The UNESCO-Project-Schools are planning an international project-day for solidarity on April 26, which will include local activities and an information drive in schools on Chernobyl and energy issues in general. HUNGARY
- A postcard campaign will be launched.
- The Hungarian campaign will try to make newspapers publish supplements about Chernobyl on 26 April.
- There will be a travelling photo-exhibit.
- On 26 April, there will be country-wide actions coordinated by Energia Klub.
- A seminar will be held on the nuclear situation (worldwide, but especially in Eastern Europe).
ITALY
- Lega Ambiente is planning to prepare a dossier on Chernobyl and a demonstration (possibly with a concert).

JAPAN
- Activities in Hiroshima are being planned. Negotiations are ongoing to bring the Hiroshima exibition to Kiev.
THE NETHERLANDS
- In about 20 towns, there will be a torchlight march on the evening of 26 April.
- Bike-tours from all nuclear facilities to Amsterdam.
- On 27 April, there will be a nationwide demonstration in Amsterdam. It will focus on western (Dutch) money being transferred into the nuclear industry in Eastern Europe.
- LAKA Foundation will print and distribute 100,000 copies of the 'No More Chernobyl' newspaper.
RUSSIA

- Anti-Atom Press is a regular newsletter publishing info on nuclear power developments and preparations of NGOs for the Chernobyl anniversary. - In April, an anti-nuclear bike-tour will be held from Murmansk to the Kola NPP. On 26 April, literature will be distributed in several cities on the Kola peninsula.
- NGOs in the city of Volgodonsk (near Rostov NPP) will organise a meeting between the city administration and NGO representatives, as well as meetings with the media, schoolchildren and representatives of industry.
- Altai Ecological Center and Tutaev Nature House will show anti-nuclear video programs on city TV on 26 April.

SWEDEN
- A conference to commemorate the tenth aniversery of Chernobyl will be held in Stockholm on 26-27 April. The conference will focus on sustainable non-nuclear energy. Among the speakers are Rosalie Bertell and Frank Barnaby.

UKRAINE
- 12-27 April: For Mother Earth International has organised a "Walk for a Nuclear-free Future" from Kiev to the 30-km zone around Chernobyl. The walk will start in Kiev with workshops and talks (with guest speakers) on Chernobyl and energy issues in Eastern Europe. There will be meetings with relocated people, (ex-)workers at the NPP, medical people, liquidators and sick people. - Ecocenter in Harkov will hold an exhibition consisting of graphics and placards about Chernobyl. It will also organise an Ecology and Children Conference in March 1996. UNITED KINGDOM
- The Atomic Mirror Pilgrimage 1996 will start on Good Friday, 5 April, in Canterbury and finish at Sellafield on Friday, 26 April. Passing through a number of sacred sites as well as several important nuclear sites, the Atomic Mirror 1996 will highlight the effects that nuclear weapons have had on the land and people of Britain since the nuclear age began. The pilgrimage will show how the set of values now embodied in the British Nuclear State are radically different from that in the past. UNITED STATES
- The U.S. campaign, involving the collection of relief goods for Chernobyl victims, is being organised mainly by NIRS along with Greenpeace. Vitamins, baby food, medicines, etc. will be collected in some 200 places across the U.S. in April. Apart from NIRS and Greenpeace, lots of other organisations will be involved. Organising will be done among students, unions and religious communities as well. NIRS has set up a Chernobyl + 10 area on their web site http://www.essential.org/nirsnet/
- An extensive campaign, mainly to be handled by Greenpeace, will be directed towards local as well as national media.
- The Safe Energy Communication Council will release a new report: MYTHBusters # 10: International Nuclear Power. The report, which rejects the myths on nuclear energy, contains an update on Chernobyl.
- An evening event, organised by the Open Magazine Pamphlet Series and Learning Alliance, will take place in New York on 25 April. It will consist of speeches, poetry and music. Among the speakers are Helen Caldicott, Michio Kaku and Jay Gould.
